Our Story

Eli the Bee Guy is a small family agriculture enterprise. Based in St Louis county, we utilize some of the remaining undeveloped land as well as suburban lots to keep our bees.

Eli has been keeping bees since 2005 where he learned from Dan O’Leary while studying Biodynamic agriculture at Michael Fields Agriculture Institute. Soon after Eli’s primary project in Peace Corps Malawi was advising the Nkhata Bay Honey Producers cooperative. While working with the Coop, Eli secured multiple grants for technology and modern Kenya Top Bar Hives as well as increasing sales and coop member involvement.

Whilst living on the Big Island of Hawaii, Eli ran 30 colonies for honey production and won multiple awards for his high quality honey.

Eli has started keeping bees again after moving his family back to his childhood home and is enjoying being a bee rancher and honey farmer with the help and support of his wife, children and mother in law.
